A bit about "Beautiful Morning"
Appearing with Anderson on Beautiiful Morning are some of the best performers in the country. Featured throughout Beautiful Morning is Dylan's legendary violinist, Scarlet Rivera. Scarlet also played on Tracy Chapman's, "Telling Stories", recorded and toured with Bob Dylan, the Indigo Girls and Keb Mo recording.
Drummer Carlton Jackson, has played for the critically acclaimed "Do Jump" as well as a long list of others including Dianne Shurr and Tom Grant.
Bassist Leah Hinchcliff is a former member of Seattle-based band, Swamp Mama Johnson. Has performed with Bo Diddley and is reknowned for her outstanding musicianship.
John Mannenbach played with the MacKenzie River Band for many years prior to his association with Anderson. (John played on Anderson's "My Famous Friend" as well.) Mannenbach is known in the musical community as one of Portland's best kept secrets. His acoustic guitar playing is clean, and concise. If heart can be felt through an instrument, John Mannenbach has learned how to express it.
Well-known for her Women in Blues performances, blues harmonica player and rhythm guitarist, Mary Curtis, shines on harmonica. Mary described her playing 2nd guitar to John Mannenbach as "dancing backwards in high heels", which Curtis accomplished in style on this recording.
Other players include Holly Leer - back-up vocals, flute and cello; Mark Bosnian - piano, Clark Salisbury - electric guitar, and Nicole Campbell - back-up vocals..
"This CD is so exciting for me! It has surpassed my expectations - and I have to give that credit to the musicians who performed on the CD. Everyone who played had their heart in it and I think that came through in the final product. I am very grateful to have both good friends and great musicians playing on this recording!"
